The Dear Abbeys

Boston University's All-Male A Cappella Group

- 2016 Audition Gift -

Thanks for your interest in auditioning for The Dear Abbeys! As a token of our thanks, here's a free download of one of our favorite Abbey songs, "Baba O'Riley." Since you're here, read below for some information on a few of the exciting things we get to do and why we'd love for you to audition!

(To download the song, click on the downward-pointing arrow in the SoundCloud box above. Or try this link.)

We really love this song. It helped our group win the 2005 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). Following the ICCA win, "Baba O'Riley" gained accolades in the music community (iTunes named this song as an A Cappella iTunes Essential) and in other places too (Jason Segal seemed to like the song).

Hopefully, this song can inspire you as you prepare for your upcoming audition with us. If you have any questions, do feel free to shoot us an email. (We don't bite!)

Baba O’Riley by Dear Abbeys: A real example of male camaraderie. No instruments involved.

- Tours -

Have we mentioned the wonderful opportunity we have to tour together every year? It began as a way to visit schools and teach students about music and how fulfilling it can be. We continue this tradition by visiting elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as perform with other collegiate a cappella groups across the country. Past tour locations include: Alaska, New Mexico, Florida, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana, California, and even Columbia! As an Abbey, you will have the opportunity to travel every year and add some incredible memories to your college experience.

- Recordings -

We currently have 8 professionally-produced albums, with the most recent release in 2012. Additionally, we released a single earlier this year, our version of All Of Me by John Legend. Future plans include several more recordings within the year and a subsequent EP release. All things you will be a part of as an Abbey!
